Ragu #EPICFAIL
What the hell? Did you see the Ragu commercial that aired during the Olympics. I am no prude, but that was kind of disturbing. I would love to have been in the pitch meeting. “So, a chubby kid walks in on his parents having sexual intercourse. Then, his dad makes him spaghetti.” Brilliant! Not. I must admit that I am a huge fan of Ragu. I am not much of a cook. It’s hereditary. Growing up we knew dinner was ready when the smoke alarm went off. My mom cooked steaks until they were very well done. Anyway, my kids love Ragu. However, that commercial won’t convince other people to buy your product. In fact, it will make them lose their appetite. The kid in that commercial needs therapy not pasta.

I think Ragu is going for a new pitchline…Ragu: Return to your Childhood Innocence. The next commercial will include a child going into the bathroom only to witness his father enjoying some meth. Another will be a child watching Scarface and yet one more will involve a young girl going to see Magic Mike with her mom.
