I’m going to the chapel
My dear friend is getting married today. I love her so much that I am willing to cram my 37-year-old body into a tiny dress and be a bridesmaid. I will be the woman in pictures with a ridiculously red face. I am having a mid-life skin crisis. I don’t know if it is Rosacea or dry skin, but I look like a clown in photographs. I live in a town with just one good Dermatologist. It’s like a modern day Walnut Grove. So, I can get an appointment in 2013.
The bride has been such an important part of my life for a decade. We have laughed and cried together. God knows we have complained to one another. I am honored to stand beside her today.
She is truly happy. It will make me happy to have a night out with cocktails and no children. Since I don’t have to worry about embarrassing my oldest son I will be dancing like a fool. You’ve been warned.
