Father and Daughter Recreate Wedding Photos
I have been on the verge of sobbing since I saw a series of online photographs. Ben Nunery decided to recreate his wedding photos with his daughter after his wife died of cancer. There are no words.
“Our lives will continue down a curvy and uncertain path, but Olivia and I will be able to look at these photos and know that for a short time there was a place where I was the luckiest man in the world, even if just for a little while,” wrote Ben

On Ben and Ali Nunery’s big day in 2009, they posed inside their new, and still empty, house. The backdrop of a soon-to-be-decorated home in the photos help to capture the newlyweds’ moment of excitement, happiness and love.
In March 2011, 31-year-old Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer called Sarcomatoid Carcinoma. She passed away eight months later, leaving behind her husband and a 1-year-old daughter named Olivia.
Ali’s sister, Melanie Pace, took the wedding photos and posted them on her professional photography blog. In December of this year, Ben and Olivia moved from the home — a place that holds memories of Ali.
With the house empty once again, Ben asked his sister-in-law Melanie to take pictures of him and his now 3-year-old daughter.
Melanie was able to recreate the original wedding day shots with ones of Ben and Olivia. Where her mother once stood, Olivia stands.
And the outcome is powerful.
